Core Network Engineer (Arista)

Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Core Network Engineer with specialized expertise in Arista technologies, data centre networking, migration, and hybrid cloud connectivity. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure. This includes ensuring smooth data centre migrations, maintaining network reliability, and optimizing overall network performance to support business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage Arista core network infrastructure, focusing on leaf-spine architecture, MLAG, VXLAN/EVPN, and Layer 2/3 networking protocols.
- Lead end-to-end data centre migration activities, including discovery, dependency mapping, cutover planning, and execution to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
- Architect and oversee hybrid cloud connectivity solutions using Azure ExpressRoute, OCI FastConnect, and Google Cloud Platform Interconnect.
- Configure and optimize network protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, QoS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs to maintain secure and efficient network operations.
- Conduct capacity planning, network monitoring, firmware upgrades, and implement security hardening measures to safeguard network infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues promptly to maintain high availability and optimal performance.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), runbooks, and change management records to support operational continuity and audits.

Required Qualifications

- A minimum of 8 years of experience in core network engineering, data centre networking, or related infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Arista EOS, CloudVision, and network fabric design and operations.
- Proven track record of leading data centre migrations, including detailed cutover planning and successful execution.
- In-depth knowledge of routing and switching protocols such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, and MLAG, along with hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.
- Excellent network troubleshooting skills, including packet-level analysis to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds or Zabbix for proactive network management.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

- Certifications like Arista ACE-A/P, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, or Microsoft AZ-700 are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with network automation using Ansible or Python scripting is a plus, enabling improved efficiency and consistency in network operations.
