Core Network Engineer (Arista)

Systems Limited is seeking an experienced Core Network Engineer with specialized expertise in Arista technologies, data centre networking, migration, and hybrid cloud connectivity. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise network infrastructure. This includes ensuring smooth data centre migrations, maintaining network reliability, and optimizing overall network performance to support business operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage Arista core network infrastructure, focusing on leaf-spine architecture, MLAG, VXLAN/EVPN, and Layer 2/3 networking protocols.
- Lead comprehensive data centre migration projects, including discovery, dependency mapping, cutover planning, and execution to ensure minimal downtime and risk.
- Architect and maintain hybrid cloud connectivity solutions using platforms such as Azure ExpressRoute, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) FastConnect, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Interconnect.
- Configure and optimize network protocols and technologies including BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs, QoS, load balancing, firewalls, and VPNs to enhance network efficiency and security.
- Conduct capacity planning, continuous network monitoring, firmware upgrades, and implement security hardening measures to safeguard network assets.
- Troubleshoot complex network issues promptly to maintain high availability and optimal network performance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, including High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), runbooks, and change management records.

Required Qualifications

- A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in core network engineering, data centre networking, or related infrastructure roles.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Arista EOS, CloudVision, and network fabric design and operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end data centre migrations, including detailed cutover planning and execution.
- In-depth knowledge of advanced networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN, MLAG, and hybrid cloud connectivity solutions.
- Proficient in network troubleshooting and packet-level analysis to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Experience working with network monitoring tools like SolarWinds or Zabbix for proactive network management.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills

- Relevant certifications such as Arista ACE-A/P, Cisco CCNP or CCIE, and Microsoft AZ-700 are highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting languages such as Ansible or Python is a plus, enabling automation and improved operational efficiency.
