A leading media group operating a national satellite TV channel, a local news channel, and a daily Urdu newspaper is seeking an experienced and professional Corporate Lawyer to join its legal team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive legal support across various facets of the organization’s operations, ensuring compliance with corporate, commercial, and regulatory requirements within the media and broadcasting industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle corporate, commercial, and regulatory legal matters pertaining to the media group.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, memorandums of understanding (MoUs), non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), vendor agreements, and employment-related documents.
- Provide legal advice and support on media, broadcasting, publication, copyright, trademark, and intellectual property issues.
- Manage legal matters related to PEMRA regulations, press regulations, notices, complaints, and overall regulatory compliance.
- Advise management on defamation, content-related legal issues, notices, and litigation matters.
- Coordinate with external lawyers, law firms, courts, and regulatory authorities as required.
- Review company policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of legal notices, cases, agreements, and regulatory correspondence.
- Deliver timely legal opinions and risk assessments to support management decision-making.
Required Qualifications
- LLB degree from a recognized university or institution.
- Valid Bar Council license or enrollment is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of Pakistani corporate, commercial, labor, intellectual property, and media-related laws.
- Excellent legal drafting, research, communication, and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in corporate and media law will be highly preferred.
- Proven experience dealing with regulatory authorities and managing legal proceedings is an advantage.
This position is based in Lahore and requires in-person attendance.
