Crane operator

We are seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team and handle the precise lifting and movement of heavy materials such as steel beams, concrete, and machinery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of cranes, including tower, mobile, and overhead cranes, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong focus on safety protocols, effective communication with ground crews, and routine equipment maintenance to maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Precision Lifting: Operate cranes to lift and transport materials safely and accurately, ensuring proper handling of steel beams, concrete, machinery, and other heavy loads.

Safety First: Conduct thorough daily pre-operational inspections of cables, hydraulics, and mechanical systems to identify and address any potential issues before use.

Load Mastery: Accurately calculate load weights and confirm they are within the crane’s capacity limits, taking into account current weather conditions to maintain safety standards.

Communication: Collaborate closely with ground crews, including riggers and signal persons, using hand signals or radio communication to coordinate safe and precise placement of loads.

Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on crane equipment to ensure it remains in optimal working condition and to prevent downtime.

Required Qualifications

- Proven experience operating tower, mobile, or overhead cranes in a construction or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of crane operation safety standards and load calculation techniques.
- Ability to conduct detailed equipment inspections and identify mechanical or hydraulic issues.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with ground personnel.
- Physical fitness and dexterity to manage crane controls and perform maintenance tasks.
