National Bank of Pakistan, one of the largest and most prominent financial institutions in the country, is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst (AVP) to join its Risk Management team in Islamabad. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze credit proposals and assess the creditworthiness of obligors by evaluating business cycles, cash flows, and identifying associated risks while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with relevant business units to gather necessary information for thorough due diligence.
- Collaborate with business and risk teams to conduct credit analysis considering market dynamics, client industry risks, and competitive positioning.
- Evaluate client cash flow and liquidity through ratio analysis and stress testing to assess balance sheet strength and profitability vulnerabilities.
- Assess reputational risks, including climate and sustainability factors.
- Conduct security assessments, review search reports, and analyze collateral and security documentation.
- Prepare recommendations for approval by the GM Credit Risk.
- Provide timely and insightful portfolio analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist in internal and external audit processes as required.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by supervisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least six years of banking experience, including a minimum of four years in corporate and/or commercial banking, either on the business or risk management side within a commercial bank.
- Strong expertise in credit and financial statement analysis.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate and commercial financing products.
- Understanding of various types of collateral and security assessments.
- Familiarity with State Bank of Pakistan’s prudential regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and strong interpersonal and business acumen skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Candidates holding a Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be given preference.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion.
- Compensation and benefits will be provided in accordance with the Bank’s policies and rules.
- The role is based in Islamabad.
