National Bank of Pakistan, one of the largest and most reputable financial institutions in the country, is seeking a skilled Credit Analyst (AVP) to join its Risk Management team in Islamabad. Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze credit proposals and requests by assessing the creditworthiness of obligors, considering business cycles and cash flow, identifying risks, and recommending appropriate mitigants while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Coordinate with relevant business units to gather necessary information for thorough due diligence.
- Collaborate with business and risk teams to develop and execute credit analysis, taking into account market dynamics, client industry risks, and competitive positioning.
- Conduct detailed analysis of client cash flow and liquidity positions using ratio analysis and stress testing to evaluate balance sheet strength, cash flow stability, and profitability vulnerabilities.
- Assess reputational risks, including climate and sustainability-related factors.
- Perform security assessments, review search reports, and analyze collateral and security documentation.
- Prepare and recommend credit requests for approval by the GM Credit Risk.
- Provide insightful and timely portfolio analysis to support decision-making.
- Assist with internal and external audits as required.
- Undertake any other assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognized institution, either local or international.
- At least six years of banking experience, including a minimum of four years in corporate and/or commercial banking, with exposure to business or risk management functions within a commercial bank.
- Strong expertise in credit and financial statement analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge of corporate and commercial financing products.
- Understanding of various types of collateral and their security assessments.
- Familiarity with State Bank of Pakistan’s prudential regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office and good interpersonal skills, coupled with strong business acumen.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Candidates holding a Master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be given preference.
- Employment will be on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the management’s discretion.

The position is based in Islamabad. Only shortlisted candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will be invited for panel interviews.
