As the company continues to grow, it is expanding its global finance team to strengthen operations, improve reporting accuracy, and ensure consistency across its international locations. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining healthy cash flow by managing customer accounts and ensuring timely invoice payments. The position requires close collaboration with customers, sales, operations, and finance teams to resolve invoice queries, monitor outstanding balances, and support collections, all while fostering professional relationships and adhering to agreed payment terms.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor customer accounts and outstanding balances across multiple entities.
- Communicate proactively with customers regarding overdue invoices and upcoming payments.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers through regular and professional communication.
- Issue customer statements, invoices, and any necessary supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve invoice and payment queries promptly and efficiently.
- Work closely with sales and operational teams to address and resolve customer disputes.
- Keep accurate and detailed records of all collection activities and communications.
- Allocate customer payments correctly and perform account reconciliations.
- Review aged debt reports regularly to identify accounts requiring attention or escalation.
- Escalate high-risk or significantly overdue accounts following company procedures.
- Support month-end reporting processes and provide updates on cash collections.
- Assist in maintaining up-to-date customer account records and credit information.
- Follow established credit control procedures and collection processes consistently.
- Contribute ideas and efforts toward improving reporting, record keeping, and collection activities.
- Help maintain accurate cash collection forecasting to support financial planning.
Required Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, collections, customer accounts, or finance administration.
- Proven experience communicating effectively with customers regarding invoices and payments.
- Proficiency in using spreadsheets and finance systems to manage account information.
- Ability to maintain accurate account records and thorough documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in resolving customer account queries and discrepancies efficiently.
- Capability to manage multiple accounts simultaneously while staying organized.
- Confidence and professionalism in customer interactions, including handling difficult conversations tactfully.
