Credit Hub Head (VP / SVP) - TJ / 1885254

National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s largest and most reputable financial institutions, is seeking a seasoned professional for the position of Credit Hub Head (VP / SVP) based in Karachi or Peshawar. Key Responsibilities:
- Exercise delegated credit approval authority by reviewing and approving SME, commercial, and agricultural credit proposals for both conventional and Islamic banking within the Baluchistan Hub. This includes thorough credit risk analysis, assessment of obligors’ creditworthiness, and evaluation of collateral while ensuring compliance with the Bank’s policies and SBP prudential regulations.
- Lead and manage the credit team assigned to the Hub’s regions, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Support the GM Credit Risk in credit review, assessment, and ongoing monitoring activities.
- Liaise effectively with various stakeholders including business units, Credit Administration Department (CAD), and audit teams at both hub and regional levels to ensure seamless operations.
- Address audit requirements and observations related to the credit function, coordinating with Head Office to implement corrective measures and prevent recurrence.
- Ensure all credit processes are completed within specified turnaround times to maintain operational efficiency.
- Monitor the credit portfolio for early warning signs, maintain portfolio management information systems (MIS), and ensure timely submission of staff data and reports.
- Train, develop, and mentor team members while maintaining high standards and planning for succession within the credit function.
- Perform any additional assignments as directed by supervisors.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least 10 years of banking experience, with a minimum of 7 years in commercial and/or SME banking, either on the business or risk management side within a commercial bank.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Proficient credit risk assessment capabilities specifically for SME and commercial lending.
- Familiarity with State Bank of Pakistan’s prudential regulations.
- Understanding of various types of collateral and their implications in credit risk.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to apply sector-specific and macroeconomic knowledge to credit judgments.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in agricultural lending is desirable.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at the management’s discretion.
