This full-time remote position is for a Cryptography Researcher within the cybersecurity domain. The role focuses on researching, designing, and evaluating modern cryptographic algorithms and protocols to secure applications, systems, and services. The researcher will analyze existing cryptographic implementations to identify vulnerabilities, perform security assessments, and collaborate closely with engineering teams to embed strong cryptographic controls into software and AI solutions. Daily responsibilities include reviewing academic literature and industry standards, developing proof-of-concept implementations, conducting threat modeling, and contributing to security architecture and best practices. Additionally, the role involves documenting research outcomes, preparing technical reports, and providing cryptographic and forensic expertise to support incident response efforts when necessary.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct research on modern cryptographic algorithms and protocols to enhance security in applications and systems.
- Analyze existing cryptographic implementations to identify weaknesses and potential vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate robust cryptographic controls into software and AI solutions.
- Review academic papers, security standards, and emerging trends to inform research and development efforts.
- Develop proof-of-concept cryptographic implementations and perform threat modeling exercises.
- Contribute to the design and improvement of security architectures and best practices.
- Document research findings and prepare detailed technical reports for internal and client use.
- Support incident response activities by providing cryptographic and forensic expertise when required.

Required Qualifications

- Strong foundation in cybersecurity and security research, with a solid understanding of current threat landscapes and security standards.
- Experience in application security, including secure design principles, secure coding practices, and cryptographic protocol integration.
- Hands-on skills in malware analysis and reverse engineering to understand attack techniques and evaluate cryptographic misuse.
- Proficiency in applied cryptography concepts such as encryption, authentication, key management, digital signatures, and secure communication protocols.
- Ability to write and review secure code in languages like Python, C/C++, Go, or Rust, along with familiarity with common cryptographic libraries.
- Experience with penetration testing tools, static and dynamic analysis, and security testing methodologies is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented by excellent technical writing abilities to communicate complex topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Security, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
