Cutup & Descript Editor

Reelax Media, a Karachi-based video production company serving clients across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia, is seeking a detail-oriented Descript Editor to join their team. This full-time, on-site role is based in Gulshan, Karachi, with working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The successful candidate will transform raw client recordings into clean, accurate transcripts and rough cuts, providing a solid foundation for the editing team. A keen ear for English and strong attention to detail are essential, as small transcript errors can significantly impact the final edit.

Key Responsibilities
- Edit audio and video content using Descript, focusing on transcript accuracy.
- Correct transcription errors, including names, terminology, and accents.
- Remove filler words, repeated takes, long pauses, and mistakes while maintaining the speaker’s natural flow.
- Prepare clean, precise scripts and rough cuts for video editors to build upon.
- Identify and mark the strongest segments of long recordings for short-form content.
- Clean up audio levels and reduce background noise before handing over files.
- Adhere to client briefs, naming conventions, and delivery standards.
- Manage deadlines effectively in a high-volume work environment.

Required Qualifications
- Ability to work full-time on-site at the Gulshan, Karachi office; remote or hybrid work is not available.
- Strong English language skills, including reading, writing, and listening comprehension.
- Clear understanding of American, British, and Australian accents.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in proofreading transcripts.
- Comfortable handling video and audio files with basic editing tools.
- Organized, efficient, and capable of managing a high workload.
- Receptive to feedback and able to collaborate well within a team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Descript or similar transcript-based editing tools such as Riverside or Adobe Podcast.
- Basic familiarity with Premiere Pro or other video editing software.
- Previous work with foreign clients or content.
- Understanding of podcast, interview, or short-form content structures.

Advanced video editing skills are not required, as this position focuses on transcript editing and producing rough cuts rather than full video editing.

The salary for this position is up to PKR 80,000 per month, depending on experience.
