The Nuclear Medicine Department at SKMCH&RC, Karachi, is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with advanced technology including an IBA medical cyclotron, Radiopharmacy units for PET and SPECT radiopharmaceuticals, two PET/CT scanners, two SPECT-CT scanners, dual-head gamma cameras, and two DXA scanners. The department conducts over 10,000 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures annually, playing a critical role in patient care. We are currently seeking a qualified Cyclotron Engineer to join the SKM hospital team in Lahore to support and maintain our cyclotron and associated radiopharmacy equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and troubleshooting of the IBA medical cyclotron and PET radiopharmacy equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct quality control tests on medical imaging devices to maintain compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Collaborate with the clinical and technical teams to support uninterrupted cyclotron operations and timely availability of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Assist in the development and improvement of cyclotron-related processes and equipment performance.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, quality control results, and equipment status.
- Ensure adherence to departmental safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to cyclotron and radiopharmacy operations.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, providing technical support and training as needed.
Required Qualifications:
- MSc or BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven ability to perform maintenance, servicing, and development tasks on IBA cyclotron systems and PET radiopharmacy equipment.
- Competence in conducting quality control procedures on medical imaging equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively within a hospital environment.
