TAKMIL (Teach A Kid Make Individual Life) is an international non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education to out-of-school children in rural areas. Operating through more than 150 non-formal centers, TAKMIL bridges local educational initiatives with global management teams to create sustainable social impact. This role is centered on ensuring the accuracy, security, and traceability of assessment records. The successful candidate will produce scoring outputs and reports that assist the selection panel in evaluating evidence, resolving uncertainties, and maintaining fairness throughout the assessment process.
Key Responsibilities
Data Systems and Documentation:
Establish and maintain the approved scoring spreadsheet or database, ensuring it is secure and well-organized. Generate unique student IDs and store identifying information separately with limited access. Develop and update a data dictionary, entry instructions, and a register of approved scoring rules. Implement validation checks, protected formulas, access controls, and regular backups. Keep detailed version histories and an audit trail for all corrections made.
Data Collection and Quality:
Receive, log, and verify nomination forms, consent records, observer sheets, interviews, and trial ratings. Identify and address missing, duplicate, illegible, or inconsistent records by returning queries to the responsible staff members. Conduct double-checks on at least 10% of entered data and investigate any errors, expanding checks if recurring issues are detected. Differentiate between “not observed” instances and low performance, ensuring missing evidence is not replaced with zeros.
Scoring and Review:
Calculate component scores, final scores, and performance bands following approved rules. Flag any paired-observer rating differences of two or more points on the program’s four-point scale. Retain original independent ratings alongside any reviewed scores, documenting reasons for any changes. Prepare student evidence summaries for the selection panel. Refer any scoring ambiguities to the Programme Lead and psychologist rather than making undocumented assumptions.
Reporting and Fairness Analysis:
Produce reports on participation, completion, missing data, and selection outcomes broken down by gender, school, and province. Include denominators and relevant context to ensure percentages are meaningful. Avoid publishing small-group breakdowns that could risk identifying individual children. Support reviews of observer rating patterns and differences across assessment locations. Track student outcomes over time using agreed-upon measures and permissions. Assist in analyzing correlations between assessment measures and later program outcomes, clearly documenting any limitations.
Confidentiality and Records Management:
Adhere to TAKMIL’s approved data retention and deletion policies. Share information strictly on a need-to-know basis aligned with staff roles. Keep sensitive wellbeing and safeguarding records separate from routine scoring files. Immediately report any suspected data loss, unauthorized access, or disclosure incidents.
Required Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including advanced formulas, data validation, lookups, and summary reporting. Experience in cleaning and verifying structured data sets. Exceptional attention to detail and strong documentation skills. Ability to manage confidential information about children with care and professionalism. Effective communication skills to explain scoring and data-quality issues to non-technical colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
Experience working with education data or monitoring and evaluation systems. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R, or database management tools. Experience in preparing dashboards or longitudinal reports is an advantage.
