This remote Data Engineer role involves designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure to support digital marketing strategies. The successful candidate will work closely with analysts, customer success managers, and cross-functional teams to ensure data is efficiently collected, stored, and processed. This position supports the growth of the Data Management & Visualization team by developing scalable data pipelines, maintaining data quality, and preparing data for dashboards and reporting. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential, as the entire application process and ongoing communication will be conducted in English. Applicants must be independent freelancers and not represented by any agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and maintain scalable data pipelines to ingest, clean, and transform data from multiple sources such as CRM systems, Google Analytics, advertising platforms, and inventory feeds.
- Design, implement, and maintain databases and optimize data storage solutions using databases, data warehouses, and cloud platforms like Google Cloud.
- Monitor database integrity, accuracy, and consistency while troubleshooting performance issues as they arise.
- Develop and maintain ETL workflows to extract, transform, and load data efficiently, automating pipelines to ensure timely processing.
- Conduct regular data audits to identify and resolve inconsistencies, implementing processes to uphold high data quality standards.
- Prepare data for dashboards and visualizations, collaborating with analytics teams to meet reporting needs.
- Work closely with senior team members and leadership to align data processes with business objectives.
- Provide support for data-related issues raised by internal stakeholders and participate in code reviews to improve workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proficiency in database technologies such as SQL and NoSQL.
- Experience with ETL tools and processes, including Apache Airflow, Talend, or custom Python scripts.
- Familiarity with data formats like JSON, CSV, XML, and APIs.
- Strong programming skills in Python or SQL.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure is advantageous.
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and align with a remote team operating in Central Standard Time (CST) hours.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
