Data Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Data Engineer with over three years of experience specializing in data engineering, ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and enterprise data integration. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and both batch and real-time data pipelines. This role requires proficiency in complex data transformation, incremental/CDC processing, API and file/database integration, streaming, and distributed data processing. The position is based in our Head Office in Karachi, within the Data Analytics - Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT workflows, batch, and real-time data pipelines using IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and other relevant integration technologies.
- Monitor data pipelines to ensure consistent, reliable performance that supports analytics and reporting needs.
- Collaborate closely with business users, Data Modelers, Data Architects, BI teams, and Data Governance to design and implement scalable data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, security, compliance, and operational reliability across all integration processes.
- Support data governance initiatives by maintaining data lineage and adhering to best practices in data management.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Software Engineering from an HEC-recognized institute or university.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in data engineering roles involving ETL/ELT, data warehousing, and enterprise data integration.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, IBM DataStage, DB2W, Big SQL, and ETL/ELT development.
- Demonstrated expertise in data warehousing, data modeling, and pipeline development.
- Solid understanding of data integration techniques, including Change Data Capture (CDC), APIs, streaming technologies, and integration patterns.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks, governance, data lineage, lakehouse architecture, and modern data engineering principles.

Preferred Qualifications and Additional Benefits:
- Qualification or certification in Islamic Finance is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate’s ability to contribute within the finance domain.
