We are seeking a proficient Data Platform Engineer with solid hands-on experience in installing, configuring, administering, and supporting modern data platforms within on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in platform administration, specifically with MinIO (including Apache Iceberg), and either Starburst or Dremio. Experience with Linux, VMware, Git, and enterprise security integrations is essential. This role focuses on delivering reliable, secure, and scalable data platform environments across Development, QA, and Production stages.

Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and administer data platform components across Development, QA, and Production environments.
- Deploy, configure, and support MinIO (with Apache Iceberg) and Starburst or Dremio platforms.
- Manage data platform deployments on VMware-based on-premises infrastructure.
- Integrate platform components with Git and enterprise security systems, including Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM).
- Configure authentication, authorization, access controls, connectivity, and security certificates to ensure platform security and compliance.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, capacity, and overall health to maintain optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to platform infrastructure, configurations, integrations, and connectivity.
- Support platform upgrades, patching, backup and recovery processes, and routine operational maintenance.
- Ensure all platform configurations adhere to security, availability, and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with Data, Infrastructure, Security, and DevOps teams during platform implementation and ongoing support.
- Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including platform configurations, deployment procedures, and operational runbooks.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in Data Platforms, Data Infrastructure, Big Data Platforms, or similar technical roles.
- Proven hands-on experience in data platform administration, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong expertise with MinIO (including Apache Iceberg) in Data Lake or Data Lakehouse environments.
- Experience working with Starburst or Dremio platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to deploy and support data platforms in on-premises environments.
- Experience integrating platforms with IAM, PAM, and other enterprise security components.
- Working knowledge of Git/version control systems and their integration with platform deployment or configuration workflows.
- Solid understanding of Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures.
- Experience managing and supporting Development, QA, and Production environments.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with Apache Spark and Informatica.
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and best practices.
- Exposure to infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Proficiency in SQL and database management.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools to ensure platform health.
- Understanding of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) concepts.
- Hands-on experience with backup and recovery procedures.
