We are seeking a Senior Quantitative Researcher with over five years of applied quantitative experience and a strong background in statistics, econometrics, or computational finance. This role is focused specifically on advanced quantitative research rather than general data science. You will work closely with a US-based client’s advertising business, tackling complex measurement challenges by framing research questions, conducting rigorous studies, and developing Python code to deliver actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate broad business questions into precise, testable research hypotheses.
- Design studies and experiments tailored to the available data, selecting appropriate methodologies.
- Measure the contribution of individual advertising assets to revenue using attribution techniques, incrementality testing, and marketing mix modeling (MMM/MTA).
- Model click-through rates, ranking dynamics, and market pricing to better understand advertising performance.
- Establish continuous evaluation frameworks for ad strategies, ensuring decisions are data-driven rather than based on intuition.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement research methods as production-ready monitoring tools.
- Write production-quality Python and SQL code independently, maintaining reproducibility, version control, and thorough documentation.
- Communicate complex findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and confidently defend conclusions under scrutiny.
- Serve as the domain expert for advertising measurement within the team, guiding best practices and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, physics, computational finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Minimum of five years’ experience applying quantitative methods in a professional setting.
- Proficiency in Python (including pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn) and SQL for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong expertise in experimental design and causal inference, with a clear understanding of the limitations of various methods.
- Demonstrated independent research capability, evidenced by publications, open-source contributions, competition participation, or a professional portfolio.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex statistical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in markets, trading, pricing, advertising technology, or actuarial science is advantageous.
- Familiarity with time series analysis and Bayesian methods.
- Background in consulting or client-facing roles, with a focus on delivering research insights to external stakeholders.
Perks and Benefits
- Gym membership, travel, and food allowances to support your well-being.
- Annual professional certification opportunities.
- Paid time off and holidays to maintain work-life balance.
- Bi-annual performance reviews accompanied by bonus incentives.
This role offers a unique opportunity to apply rigorous quantitative research skills to solve some of the most challenging measurement problems in digital advertising, working in a collaborative environment that values technical excellence and clear communication.
