Data Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist with over five years of applied quantitative experience and a strong background in statistics, econometrics, or computational finance. This role is highly specialized and focused on solving complex measurement challenges within a US-based client’s advertising business. The successful candidate will be responsible for framing research questions, designing rigorous studies, and developing Python code to deliver actionable insights. This position requires deep domain expertise in advertising measurement, with the ability to influence engineering efforts and confidently present findings to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

- Research Design: Translate broad business questions into precise, testable research hypotheses. Design studies and experiments tailored to the available data and business context.

- Measurement & Modelling: Quantify the contribution of individual advertising assets to revenue through attribution and incrementality analysis. Develop models to understand click-through rates, ranking dynamics, and market pricing mechanisms.

- Continuous Evaluation: Establish ongoing evaluation frameworks to ensure advertising strategies are driven by evidence rather than intuition. Collaborate with engineering teams to operationalize research methods into production monitoring systems.

- Hands-on Analysis: Write production-quality Python and SQL code independently, without reliance on analysts. Maintain reproducibility, version control, and thorough documentation of all analyses.

- Communication & Domain Ownership: Present complex statistical findings clearly to non-technical executives and defend conclusions under scrutiny. Serve as the subject matter expert for advertising measurement within the team, guiding strategy and technical direction.

Required Qualifications

- Master’s or PhD degree in statistics, econometrics, applied mathematics, physics, computational finance, or a closely related quantitative discipline.

- Minimum of five years of practical experience applying quantitative methods in a professional setting.

- Proficiency in Python (including pandas, statsmodels, scikit-learn) and SQL for data analysis and modeling.

- Strong expertise in experimental design and causal inference, with a clear understanding of the limitations of various methodologies.

- Demonstrated evidence of independent research, such as published papers, open-source contributions, competition participation, or a professional portfolio.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex statistical concepts into understandable insights for non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
