Database Administrator

We are seeking a Mid-Level Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in managing Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across both cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently handling database installations, sizing, replication, availability, performance, and daily operations for business-critical systems. This role specifically supports environments within the FinTech and Telecom sectors, requiring a professional who can ensure reliable and efficient database management.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and manage Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Oversee databases deployed on cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
- Perform database sizing, capacity planning, and storage management to meet organizational needs.
- Configure and maintain database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor database health, availability, and overall performance to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, connectivity, replication, and production environments.
- Manage database backups, restoration processes, upgrades, and migrations.
- Optimize query performance and overall database efficiency.
- Maintain database security by managing access controls and user privileges.
- Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to support seamless and reliable database operations.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience as a Database Administrator.
- Solid expertise in Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems.
- Demonstrated experience with database installation, configuration, sizing, and capacity planning.
- Practical knowledge of replication, backup and recovery, and high availability techniques.
- Experience managing databases in both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform database performance tuning.
- Understanding of database security principles and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience supporting high-volume or business-critical production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within FinTech, Banking, Payments, or Telecom environments is highly preferred, as it will provide valuable context for managing complex and sensitive data systems in these industries.
