Database Administrator

We are seeking a Mid Level Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on experience in managing Oracle and PostgreSQL databases across both cloud and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently handling database installations, sizing, replication, availability, performance tuning, and day-to-day operations for business-critical systems. This role primarily supports environments within the FinTech and Telecom sectors, requiring a proactive approach to ensure database reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, and manage Oracle and PostgreSQL databases.
- Oversee database operations across cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure.
- Perform database sizing, capacity planning, and storage management to meet business demands.
- Configure and maintain database replication, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor database health, availability, and overall performance.
- Troubleshoot issues related to database performance, connectivity, replication, and production incidents.
- Manage database backups, restorations, upgrades, and migrations to ensure data integrity and continuity.
- Optimize queries and database performance to support application efficiency.
- Maintain database security by managing access controls and user privileges.
- Collaborate closely with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to maintain reliable database operations.

Required Qualifications

- Proven hands-on experience as a Database Administrator with a focus on Oracle and PostgreSQL.
- Strong expertise in database installation, configuration, sizing, and capacity planning.
- Practical experience with replication, backup and recovery, and high availability configurations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage databases in both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience in performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of database security principles and disaster recovery strategies.
- Experience supporting high-volume or business-critical production environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within FinTech, Banking, Payments, or Telecom industries is highly preferred, as familiarity with these sectors will enable a better understanding of the unique challenges and requirements associated with business-critical database systems.
