We are looking for an experienced Payroll Project Manager to lead the Decibel Payroll Project from initiation through to successful delivery and post-go-live support. This role involves managing the entire payroll project lifecycle, coordinating both business and technical teams, and ensuring that payroll requirements are accurately implemented. The ideal candidate will oversee integrations, testing, compliance, and go-live activities while maintaining strong collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders. A solid background in payroll operations, payroll system implementations, HRIS, and project management is essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full Decibel Payroll Project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, and post-go-live support.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, defining milestones, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Coordinate payroll process design, system configuration, testing phases, and implementation activities.
- Manage integrations between payroll, HRIS, time and attendance, finance, banking, and other relevant systems.
- Oversee data migration efforts, employee data validation, payroll configuration, and reconciliation processes.
- Lead System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), parallel payroll runs, payroll validation, and ensure production readiness.
- Ensure accurate configuration and validation of payroll components such as calculations, earnings, deductions, benefits, taxes, leave, and overtime.
- Collaborate closely with payroll, HR, Finance teams, and external implementation partners.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests.
- Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates to senior management.
- Ensure all payroll-related regulatory, statutory, and compliance requirements are incorporated into the project.
- Maintain thorough project documentation including RAID logs, action trackers, requirements, test results, and implementation decisions.
- Facilitate effective knowledge transfer and transition to payroll and HR operations teams post-implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in payroll, HRIS, payroll transformation, or payroll implementation projects.
- Proven track record in managing payroll implementation or transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes and payroll system functionalities.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and payroll integrations.
- Experience working with Decibel Payroll or similar payroll platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate payroll with HRIS, Finance/ERP, Time Management, Benefits, Banking, and third-party systems.
- Experience managing payroll projects involving multiple countries or legal entities.
- Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent.
