The Demand Planning Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting demand planning and forecasting activities by analyzing historical and current data to estimate future product demand. This includes assessing the impact of promotions, monitoring inventory flow, and developing accurate forecast models. The position requires strong analytical, mathematical, and statistical skills, along with a solid understanding of demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and customer/product trends. The analyst will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to communicate forecasts, identify exceptions, resolve demand-related issues, and enhance forecast accuracy. The primary focus is to maintain reliable demand forecasts while supporting collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment processes, contributing to continuous improvements in demand planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform demand planning duties, including estimating future product demand, analyzing promotional uplifts, monitoring inventory flow, and developing forecast models.
- Plan, schedule, monitor, and manage CPFR (collaboration, planning, forecasting, and replenishment) activities for key accounts when assigned.
- Design and provide analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate findings with stakeholders, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of customer behavior, product mix, and promotional trend performance.
- Create effective forecast models based on industry trends and demand patterns.
- Propose and implement solutions to improve forecast accuracy.
- Communicate forecast and inventory estimations clearly to key stakeholders.
- Conduct weekly forecast maintenance and address demand-related issues promptly.
- Generate reports to manage unique forecasts and identify exceptions.
- Investigate forecast errors, perform root cause analysis, and adjust models accordingly.
- Prepare forecasts and present findings during Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE) meetings.
- Handle large datasets and follow established procedures for importing and exporting data into forecasting systems.
- Train new analysts on systems and processes as required.
- Collaborate in a cross-functional environment to develop and test forecasting tools.
- Review forecast outputs and provide input on model adjustments.
- Work effectively both independently and within team settings.
- Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in demand planning or forecasting roles.
- Strong understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in mathematical and statistical concepts.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, tailored to customer language requirements.
- Willingness to work during customer-required business hours.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software and concepts.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365.
- Experience using forecasting software.
Preferred Qualifications and Additional Skills
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python and SQL is a plus.

- Strong knowledge of artificial intelligence applications and deploying AI to drive business improvements.
