The Internal Audit Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and compliance of financial and operational activities within the Community Health Directorate (CHD) projects across Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other districts. This position involves leading audit assignments, supervising audit staff, and collaborating closely with departmental heads to enhance audit processes and organizational controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in internal audit or compliance, with proven managerial experience and the ability to mentor and develop a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-audit reviews of invoices and payment vouchers originating from Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta offices under the CHD project, reporting any discrepancies to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Monitor and evaluate operational activities of CHD projects in Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, and other districts, providing detailed observations and feedback to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit.
- Perform on-site visits to review program reports at various locations in Peshawar and Quetta as directed by the supervisor.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports on operational activities of assigned departments, ensuring accuracy and clarity in findings.
- Regularly review the progress of audit assignments to guarantee timely and effective completion.
- Follow up with CHD departments to track the implementation status of prior audit recommendations and reports.
- Supervise the examination and analysis of records to verify transaction accuracy, compliance with laws, and adherence to established policies and procedures.
- Mentor and train audit team members to improve their efficiency and enhance their auditing skills.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with departmental heads to foster trust and cooperation.
- Conduct performance appraisals for audit staff under supervision.
- Assist Senior Manager(s) in developing the Annual Audit Plan and maintaining thorough audit documentation.
- Support the creation and implementation of standard audit procedures to improve audit effectiveness.
- Participate in special investigations and reviews as required.
- Undertake any additional assignments as directed by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, or a related field, including at least 2 years in a managerial role.
- Professional certification such as CA, ACCA, CMA, CIMA, or an equivalent qualification.
