The Deputy Manager role within the BU Distribution function plays a vital part in supporting budgeting, financial monitoring, and reporting activities. This position ensures accurate budget preparation, expenditure tracking, variance analysis, and timely coordination of procurement and payments. The Deputy Manager also compiles performance reports, maintains financial tracking tools, facilitates internal audits, and may oversee junior staff to uphold compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing the annual budgets for BU Distribution by consolidating inputs from various users and ensuring alignment with financial policies.
- Monitor expenditures against approved budgets, prepare variance reports, and highlight deviations to support cost-saving initiatives.
- Track Operations & Maintenance (O&M) expenses across assigned portfolios and update monthly tracking sheets.
- Support the procure-to-pay process by reviewing material requests, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders, coordinating with Procurement and Finance teams to ensure timely processing.
- Maintain and update budget monitoring dashboards and assist in generating internal financial reports.
- Collaborate with Distribution teams during monthly budget utilization reviews, collecting relevant data and preparing reports on cost trends and utilization.
- Facilitate the processing of service requests and documentation for unbudgeted approvals.
- Provide basic financial analysis and respond to budget-related queries from stakeholders.
- Compile and distribute monthly cost performance reports to BU stakeholders.
- Maintain tracking tools for revenue expenditure (REVEX) consumption and budget variances.
- Assist in preparing quarterly financial insight reports and presentations for Distribution and Supply Chain units.
- Support data collection and formatting for internal audits and compliance reviews.
- Supervise and support junior team members, providing guidance on internal procedures and ensuring accurate documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Professional financial certification or an MBA with a focus on Finance.
- Strong understanding of both commercial and technical business aspects.
- Proficiency in financial and data analytics concepts.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office applications and SAP or Business Intelligence tools.
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in financial management or related roles.
