The DevOps Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Lahore District. This role involves close collaboration with development and operations teams to ensure the reliable, scalable, and secure delivery of AI-based software products. Key daily tasks include designing and maintaining continuous integration pipelines, managing infrastructure as code, and administering Linux systems across production and staging environments. The engineer will monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, automate routine processes, and optimize deployment workflows. Additionally, the role focuses on standardizing environments, enhancing system observability, and promoting best practices in release management and system reliability. The DevOps Engineer will work closely with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to support rapid and high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
- Manage infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to automate cloud or on-premises environments.
- Administer Linux-based production and staging systems, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Monitor system health and performance using logging and alerting tools, proactively addressing issues.
- Automate routine operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, data scientists, and product managers to align infrastructure with business needs.
- Standardize deployment environments and contribute to the development of best practices for release management and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment-related problems promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in software development using languages like Python, Go, Java, or equivalents to build automation scripts and DevOps tooling.
- Hands-on expertise in continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) systems, including Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or comparable tools.
- Solid system administration skills covering server management, network configurations, security, and performance tuning.
- Advanced knowledge of Linux operating systems, including troubleshooting and optimization in production environments.
- Ability to work effectively in collaborative, cross-functional teams with strong communication and documentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is highly advantageous.
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging, and alerting platforms like Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack to maintain system reliability.
- Prior exposure to AI, data-intensive applications, or cloud-native environments is considered a plus.
