Simplex Technology Solutions is the driving force behind the commerce platform powering some of the world’s largest restaurant brands. Our platform supports global QSR and F&B leaders by managing websites, mobile apps, self-ordering kiosks, call-center ordering, delivery, and loyalty programs. Built entirely on AWS, it handles high transaction volumes with 99.99% uptime across the Middle East and Europe. We are seeking a senior DevOps Engineer with extensive AWS experience to maintain and enhance the platform’s speed, reliability, and security as we continue to scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage the AWS infrastructure that supports the platform, including EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS/Aurora, S3, VPC, CloudFront, Route 53, and IAM, ensuring scalability, high availability, and multi-region resilience.
- Containerize workloads using Docker and deploy them on ECS or EKS with secure and optimized images.
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, integrating SonarQube for quality and security gates to maintain high standards before deployment.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, automating provisioning, scaling, and backups with Bash and Python scripting to reduce manual effort.
- Maintain platform observability and reliability through metrics, logs, traces, Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and on-call support, while ensuring security best practices are embedded by default.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to cost, capacity, and reliability, keeping runbooks up to date to empower the entire team to manage operations effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), with deep expertise in core AWS services.
- Strong proficiency with Docker and container orchestration platforms such as ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes.
- Practical experience managing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, including integration of SonarQube for quality and security checks.
- Expertise in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or AWS CDK, combined with automation scripting skills in Bash and Python.
- A proactive and collaborative mindset, with a focus on documentation, knowledge sharing, and uplifting team members.
- Habitual security awareness, ensuring secure coding practices, secure pipelines, and secure infrastructure deployment.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- AWS certifications such as DevOps Engineer or Solutions Architect are highly desirable.
- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), observability tools like Grafana, Prometheus, or Datadog, and experience with FinOps or cost optimization strategies.
- Experience working in regulated or audit-ready environments compliant with standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or PCI-DSS.
