easypaisa is Pakistan’s first digital bank, pioneering advancements in the country’s digital finance landscape. The bank is seeking a Director of Investigations to lead and manage its Corporate Investigations Framework. This role ensures the independent, objective, and timely investigation of fraud, employee misconduct, whistleblower allegations, regulatory breaches, and other integrity-related matters. The Director will oversee the entire investigation lifecycle, maintain strong governance, engage key stakeholders confidentially, and report to senior leadership and the Board Audit Committee. They will also manage the Integrity Hotline program, coordinate with external consultants, and leverage advanced analytics to identify emerging risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the investigations function, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices. Maintain governance frameworks, investigation methodologies, and quality standards.
- Oversee the Integrity Hotline, Speak-Up channels, and other reporting mechanisms, ensuring timely triage, assessment, and prioritization of allegations and complaints.
- Lead complex and sensitive investigations related to fraud, corruption, financial crime, employee misconduct, ethical breaches, and regulatory non-compliance. Ensure thorough evidence collection, forensic reviews, interviews, and root cause analysis.
- Prepare and present detailed investigation reports, dashboards, and thematic analyses to senior management, compliance committees, and the Board Audit Committee. Provide confidential briefings on sensitive matters and escalate significant findings appropriately.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CXOs, Human Resources, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Information Security, Internal Audit, and other stakeholders while preserving confidentiality and independence.
- Leverage technology, forensic tools, automation, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics to enhance investigative effectiveness and proactively identify fraud risks and emerging threats.
- Ensure all investigations are supported by comprehensive documentation, maintain accurate case records, and monitor the implementation of management actions.
- Oversee the engagement and performance of external consultants, forensic specialists, and legal counsel, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and confidentiality.
- Participate in group investigations and regional assignments as required, providing expertise and ensuring consistent application of investigation protocols across jurisdictions.
- Promote a strong ethical culture and speak-up environment by supporting ethics training, awareness sessions, and continuous improvement of the investigations framework.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the investigations team, fostering a high-performance culture and building specialist capabilities in forensic investigations, interviewing, analytics, and fraud risk management.
Required Qualifications
- ACCA, CA, or Master’s degree with specialized certifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) or Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP).
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ethics, compliance, investigations, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) concepts, investigation interviewing skills, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and report writing skills.
- Demonstrated personal integrity, teamwork, resourcefulness, and effective listening skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in military, law enforcement, or intelligence sectors is advantageous.
- Familiarity with forensic tools and exposure to similar projects or work in Asia.
