National Bank of Pakistan, one of the country’s leading financial institutions, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the position of Director Staff College (VP / SVP) based in Karachi. This role is integral to advancing the Bank’s human resource development strategy by leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of training and learning initiatives that align with the Bank’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the design and development of training programs and curricula in collaboration with internal experts and external vendors to meet learning and development objectives.
- Oversee the effective implementation of training programs, ensuring smooth financial, operational, administrative, and logistical management.
- Ensure training content adheres to best practices in experiential, social, and directional learning methodologies.
- Initiate new learning programs aligned with the Bank’s strategic challenges, focusing on customer experience, capacity development, and process improvement.
- Upskill faculty members by keeping them updated on the latest developments in the banking and financial sector.
- Build and strengthen a sustainable pool of internal trainers and subject matter experts.
- Foster collaboration across all levels of the organization to identify operational challenges and develop tailored learning interventions.
- Align learning initiatives with the technical competency framework to address immediate and medium-term competency gaps.
- Establish and maintain performance evaluation methods for training content, delivery, engagement, and outcomes.
- Utilize metrics to measure knowledge transfer effectiveness and return on investment.
- Apply lessons learned from program evaluations to enhance future training initiatives.
- Lead by example to promote and enrich the learning culture within the Bank.
- Organize and supervise training hub activities, ensuring the availability of proper infrastructure for smooth program delivery.
- Coordinate with internal, external, and State Bank of Pakistan auditors as required.
- Evaluate college staff performance based on targets and the Bank’s appraisal policy.
- Prepare monthly training calendars aligned with Training Needs Analysis (TNA) and the Annual Training Plan.
- Ensure timely completion of mandatory training by targeted staff and regularly report training progress to leadership.
- Manage administrative matters including staff attendance, leave, office decorum, and conflict resolution.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Divisional Head.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum graduation or equivalent degree from a university or institute recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
- At least 8 years of professional experience, including a minimum of 4 years in corporate training, organizational development, or learning and development roles.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Excellent planning, organizing, decision-making, leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- A master’s degree and/or relevant professional certifications will be considered an advantage.
- Candidates with certification as trainers or experience working with reputable training organizations are preferred.
- The position is offered on a contractual basis for three years, with the possibility of renewal at management’s discretion.
