DISPENSER – COMMUNITY SERVICES

Karwan-e-Hayat (KeH) Institute for Mental Health Care is seeking a dedicated Dispenser to join its community mental health services team based in Korangi. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the accurate dispensing of medicines and supporting the medical team in delivering quality care to patients within the community. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient safety and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

- Dispense medicines accurately according to authorized prescriptions, working under the supervision of the medical team.
- Provide clear explanations to patients and caregivers regarding prescribed dosages, timing, and proper storage of medicines.
- Maintain comprehensive records of medicine dispensing, stock levels, and inventory registers to ensure accountability.
- Monitor expiry dates and storage conditions of medicines, coordinating timely replenishment to avoid shortages.
- Assist community clinics and outreach programs by preparing and distributing medicines as needed.
- Report any prescription discrepancies, medicine shortages, or patient concerns promptly to the medical team.
- Adhere strictly to organizational standard operating procedures (SOPs), infection prevention protocols, and patient confidentiality guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- A recognized Diploma or Certificate in Dispensing or an equivalent pharmacy-related qualification.
- Ideally, 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in a hospital, clinic, or community healthcare environment.
- Strong skills in communication, recordkeeping, and inventory management.
- Ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with patients and caregivers in Urdu; familiarity with local languages is considered an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

- Experience working within mental health services will be highly regarded.
- The position offers a monthly salary starting from Rs55,000.
- The role requires physical presence at the Korangi location to support in-person community health activities.
