Dispenser

The Dispenser will be responsible for the accurate and safe dispensing of medicines to patients, strictly adhering to prescriptions, clinical protocols, and SHINE Humanity’s pharmacy procedures. This role involves supporting proper medicine storage, managing inventory, maintaining documentation, and coordinating closely with the Pharmacy Incharge and clinic team to ensure smooth pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

Medicine Dispensing:
- Dispense medicines accurately according to prescriptions issued by authorized medical personnel.
- Provide patients with clear instructions on dosage, frequency, duration, and basic medicine usage.
- Verify medicine details including strength, quantity, expiry date, and prescription validity before dispensing.
- Ensure no medicines are dispensed without proper prescription or authorization.
- Identify and report any discrepancies, unclear prescriptions, damaged medicines, or suspected medication errors to the Pharmacy Incharge or relevant medical officer.

Inventory and Stock Management:
- Maintain accurate records of medicines received, issued, returned, damaged, and expired.
- Store medicines appropriately, following required storage conditions.
- Regularly monitor expiry dates and segregate near-expiry or expired medicines.
- Assist with periodic stock counts and physical inventory verification.
- Report shortages, excess stock, damaged items, or discrepancies immediately to the Pharmacy Incharge.
- Follow the First-Expiry-First-Out (FEFO) principle for medicine issuance.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Keep precise dispensing registers, stock records, and other pharmacy-related documentation.
- Ensure all medicine issues are properly recorded and traceable.
- Support the preparation of periodic pharmacy and stock reports.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient and pharmacy records at all times.

Patient Support:
- Interact with patients respectfully and professionally.
- Provide clear and appropriate guidance on prescribed medicines.
- Refer any medical or clinical questions beyond the scope of the role to the Medical Officer or relevant clinical staff.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and patient-friendly dispensing area.

Compliance and Coordination:
- Adhere to SHINE Humanity’s pharmacy policies, SOPs, infection prevention procedures, and other applicable protocols.
- Work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Incharge and coordinate with the Clinic Supervisor and Medical Officer as needed.
- Follow instructions from the Pharmacy Incharge regarding pharmacy operations and medicine management.
- Participate in pharmacy audits, stock inspections, training sessions, and monitoring activities.
- Immediately report any suspected misuse, loss, unauthorized access, or irregularities involving medicines or pharmacy records.

Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Pharmacy, Dispensary, Pharmacy Technician qualification, or a relevant recognized certification.
- Valid registration or license with the relevant regulatory authority, where applicable.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in record-keeping.
- Knowledge of medicine dispensing, storage, inventory management, and fundamental pharmacy procedures.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience working in a hospital, clinic, pharmacy, NGO, or community healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare staff.
- Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and ability to follow SOPs and reporting structures.
- Ability to work efficiently within a community healthcare environment.

Compensation
The position offers a monthly salary ranging from Rs35,000 to Rs50,000.

Work Location
This is an in-person role requiring presence at the designated clinic or pharmacy site.
