Relief International (RI), a global non-profit organization dedicated to supporting communities affected by climate change and disasters, is seeking a District MEAL Assistant to join its team in Pakistan. This role involves supporting Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) activities and Management Information Systems (MIS) within the assigned district. The District MEAL Assistant will work closely with provincial and district teams to ensure accurate data collection, verification, and reporting, while supporting community feedback mechanisms and maintaining data quality. This position requires regular field visits and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote effective program implementation and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Submit cleaned datasets for quality assurance and prepare aggregated, de-identified MIS summaries for review.

Coordinate with project and field staff to facilitate timely and reliable data collection and reporting. Assist in conducting surveys, assessments, and outcome monitoring under supervision, ensuring informed consent and confidentiality. Support the matching of baseline and endline data and update referral-status information without engaging in clinical decision-making or counseling.

Provide technical support and capacity building by orienting district staff and data collectors on MEAL tools, MIS procedures, and data quality standards. Promote accessible community feedback and complaints response mechanisms, ensuring participant identification follows approved criteria and safeguarding sensitive information by referring cases through designated channels.

Contribute to learning and knowledge management by documenting lessons learned, good practices, and outcome stories while protecting participant identities. Uphold Relief International’s Code of Conduct and safeguarding policies, modeling ethical behavior and ensuring a safe environment for staff and communities. Support teamwork and coordination with program and support teams, maintaining compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field. Minimum of two years’ relevant experience in MEAL, MIS, data management, or project monitoring, preferably within an NGO/INGO setting. Strong understanding of MEAL principles and practical experience in data collection, validation, database maintenance, and reporting. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and digital data collection platforms such as Kobo or ODK. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills in English and Urdu. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, handle confidential information responsibly, and travel regularly to project sites.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

Experience with data visualization and MIS platforms such as Power BI or LogAlto is advantageous. Prior involvement in supporting community feedback mechanisms or monitoring mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS), protection, or health programs is desirable. Familiarity with humanitarian or development programs, donor reporting requirements, and data quality assurance processes will be beneficial. Knowledge of local languages spoken in project areas is a plus.

Relief International is committed to humanitarian principles and values including integrity, adaptability, collaboration, inclusivity, and sustainability. The organization promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, encouraging applications from all qualified candidates, with particular encouragement for female applicants.
