Documentary Video Editor

Team Zealancy is seeking a talented YouTube Video Editor skilled in storytelling, motion design, and AI visual generation to transform raw footage and creative ideas into captivating, high-retention YouTube content. This full-time onsite role is based in Karachi, with working hours from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Compensation ranges from PKR 45,000 to 120,000+ per month, depending on skill, portfolio, experience, and trial performance. The position focuses on documentary-style, talking-head, creator-led, and long-form YouTube videos. Candidates are evaluated primarily on their portfolio quality, creative execution, and technical ability rather than job titles.

Key Responsibilities:
- Edit long-form YouTube videos from raw footage through to final delivery.
- Develop strong intros and hooks that generate curiosity and maintain viewer attention.
- Structure videos emphasizing storytelling, pacing, and viewer retention.
- Create and integrate motion graphics, typography, animations, and visual effects.
- Use B-roll, graphics, screenshots, stock footage, music, and sound effects purposefully.
- Generate and incorporate AI visuals for storytelling, B-roll, concepts, and creative sequences.
- Utilize tools such as Higgsfield AI and other AI image/video generation platforms.
- Seamlessly combine AI-generated visuals with traditional editing, motion design, and sound to ensure visual consistency.
- Apply basic color correction and grading as needed.
- Translate scripts, dialogue, and creative concepts into engaging visual sequences.
- Accurately reproduce editing styles based on references without blindly copying.
- Apply basic graphic design and layout principles when creating visual assets.
- Manage revisions professionally and efficiently.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and communicate any blockers early.
- Deliver high-quality work within agreed deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
- Strong understanding of motion design, animation, pacing, rhythm, sound design, and visual composition.
- Good typography and layout judgment.
- Basic knowledge of color correction and grading.
- Expertise in B-roll selection and visual storytelling.
- Strong project organization and asset management skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine editing and workflow issues independently.
- Hands-on experience with AI visual generation and AI-assisted creative workflows.
- Familiarity with Higgsfield AI or similar AI image/video generation tools.
- Ability to generate, refine, and integrate AI visuals into professional edits with strong judgment on visual consistency, realism, continuity, and quality.
- Solid understanding of YouTube storytelling and viewer retention techniques.
- Ability to analyze and explain why certain editing decisions work.
- Good English comprehension, especially for English-language scripts.
- Ability to make purposeful creative decisions rather than adding effects arbitrarily.
- Capability to translate scripts and abstract ideas into strong AI-assisted visual sequences.
- Familiarity with creator-led content styles, including channels like Johnny Harris and Colin & Samir.

Compensation & Growth:
Final compensation and role level depend on portfolio strength, technical skills, creative judgment, experience, and trial performance. Selected candidates may also be eligible for performance-based earning opportunities, revenue sharing, performance partnership options, and medical benefits as per company policy.
