The Draftsman Executive role is a full-time, on-site position based in Lahore. The primary responsibility is to create detailed technical drawings and layouts for solar energy projects. This includes preparing CAD drawings for solar panel placement, mounting structures, wiring diagrams, and equipment layouts in line with engineering specifications and project requirements. The role requires updating drawings based on feedback, ensuring accuracy, adherence to relevant codes and standards, and maintaining organized records and documentation. The Draftsman Executive will work closely with design engineers, project managers, and site teams to support proposals, installation plans, and as-built drawings. Coordination with stakeholders to clarify design details and contributing to the continuous improvement of drafting standards and templates is also essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and modify detailed CAD drawings for solar panel layouts, mounting structures, wiring, and equipment placement according to project specifications.
- Update and revise technical drawings based on feedback from engineers, project managers, and site teams.
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and company policies.
- Maintain organized documentation and drawing records for easy retrieval and project tracking.
- Collaborate effectively with design engineers, project managers, and on-site personnel to support project proposals, installation plans, and as-built documentation.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to clarify design details and resolve any discrepancies.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of drafting standards, templates, and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or similar tools, with a strong understanding of drafting standards and best practices.
- Basic knowledge of solar energy system components, layouts, and fundamental electrical or structural design concepts related to photovoltaic installations.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy in measurements and annotations, and the ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and site surveys.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and site teams in a dynamic environment.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities, capable of handling multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
- Competency in MS Office or equivalent software for documentation, reporting, and project coordination.
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Prior experience in solar or construction projects is advantageous.
- Commitment to safety, adherence to company policies, and a willingness to learn new tools and techniques in solar design and drafting.
