The National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, in collaboration with the Evidence for Health (E4H) programme funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), is seeking a Junior Level AMR Data Analyst to support the Expanded IHR and AMR Institutionalisation, Surveillance, and Portfolio Coordination under Workstream 2. This role focuses on strengthening AMR governance, surveillance, laboratory quality, and evidence-to-action functions within the NIH AMR Secretariat. The position involves working closely with a multidisciplinary federal AMR team to enhance data quality, support national reporting requirements, and contribute to the institutionalisation and sustainability of AMR functions aligned with Pakistan’s National Action Plan on AMR (NAP-AMR 2.0). The role is based in Islamabad and requires approximately 60 days of engagement between October 2026 and March 2027.

Key Responsibilities:
- Compile, clean, analyze, and visualize antimicrobial resistance (AMR) data from the sentinel-site network to support surveillance and reporting.
- Support data validation processes, ensuring completeness and timeliness for GLASS-AMR submissions and national antibiogram production.
- Conduct research and rapid evidence synthesis to inform AMR governance, surveillance improvements, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Assist in preparing AMR evidence products, including national snapshot reports, charts, and dashboards tailored for policy, clinical, and programmatic audiences.
- Maintain comprehensive analytical documentation, records, and trackers, including support for NAP-AMR 2.0 action tracking.
- Facilitate capacity building by documenting datasets, analytical methods, and workflows to enable smooth handover and institutionalisation within NIH counterparts.
- Collaborate with AMR specialists and other team members to ensure alignment with broader IHR/NAPHS health security frameworks and avoid duplication of efforts.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in statistics, epidemiology, data science, public health, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in health data management and analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical software and data visualization tools such as R, Stata, SPSS, Python, Excel, or Power BI.
- Experience in conducting literature reviews and rapid evidence synthesis.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality.
- Effective written communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively under supervision.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits:
- Familiarity with AMR or laboratory surveillance data systems, such as WHONET or GLASS, is highly desirable.
- Experience working within health security or infectious disease surveillance programmes will be an advantage.
- Female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply, reflecting the programme’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
- Opportunity to contribute to a high-impact national health security initiative with capacity-building and institutional strengthening components.
- Engagement with a multidisciplinary team embedded within NIH structures, providing exposure to governance, surveillance, and policy processes at the federal level.

This role offers a unique opportunity to support Pakistan’s national AMR agenda by strengthening data-driven decision-making and institutional sustainability within a key public health institution. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that AMR surveillance data is accurate, timely, and effectively used to guide antimicrobial stewardship and policy interventions.
