Eclipse Specialist

In this hourly, remote contractor position, you will serve as an Eclipse Specialist (Subject Matter Expert) responsible for designing and executing realistic, challenging computer-based tasks using the Eclipse IDE and associated software development workflows. Your role involves creating practical Eclipse tasks, thoroughly documenting them in SuperAnnotate, ensuring your technical environment supports each task, and recording your task execution to demonstrate real-world usage. These tasks will help train advanced AI models to better understand how developers interact with Eclipse during coding, debugging, and project management activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Create realistic Eclipse tasks by developing challenging, executable workflows within the Eclipse IDE. Document each task clearly and comprehensively in SuperAnnotate to facilitate understanding and review.
- Prepare your work environment to support each task, including installing Eclipse, setting up workspaces and projects, configuring JDKs, managing dependencies, and gathering any necessary reference materials before recording.
- Record yourself performing the Eclipse tasks on your computer, following project instructions carefully to ensure the workflow is clear, complete, and reflects practical software development scenarios.
- Provide detailed task context, including step-by-step instructions, goals, project files, dependencies, and notes. This documentation should enable reviewers to fully grasp the task’s purpose and execution.
- Demonstrate practical use of Eclipse features such as project setup, importing projects, coding, debugging, managing build paths, using plugins, working with Maven or Gradle, writing and running tests, integrating Git, and troubleshooting build or runtime issues.
- Maintain high-quality submissions by reviewing your recordings and documentation before submission to ensure accuracy, clarity, realism, and adherence to project guidelines.

Required Qualifications

- Proven expertise with the Eclipse IDE, including hands-on experience with Java project creation, JDK configuration, dependency management, and plugin usage.
- Strong understanding of common software development workflows within Eclipse, such as debugging, testing, version control integration (Git), and build tools like Maven or Gradle.
- Ability to clearly document technical tasks and workflows in a structured and understandable manner.
- Experience recording screen activity with clear audio and video to demonstrate task execution.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to work independently in a remote, contractor capacity.
- Familiarity with software development best practices and troubleshooting common build and runtime issues.
