Ecology and Bio Diversity Functional Area Expert (NABET Accredited) - Category A

Assystem is seeking a dedicated Ecology & Biodiversity Field Application Expert (FAE) to join its Hyderabad team on a permanent, on-site basis. The role involves planning, supervising, reviewing, and technically validating ecological and biodiversity components within Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Environmental Management Plan (EMP) studies. This includes conducting baseline assessments, ecological surveys, impact assessments, biodiversity evaluations, mitigation planning, and preparing or reviewing relevant sections of EIA/EMP reports. The expert will work closely with other FAEs, EIA coordinators, field survey teams, GIS specialists, and laboratories to ensure seamless integration of ecological data into comprehensive EIA documentation.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ecological baseline assessments focusing on flora and fauna.
- Perform biodiversity assessments and aquatic ecology studies, including marine environment evaluations such as phytoplankton, zooplankton, macro and meio benthos analysis.
- Assess fish populations and quantify environmental impacts.
- Develop and implement mitigation strategies and biodiversity management plans.
- Apply knowledge of regulatory and conservation frameworks relevant to ecological studies.
- Utilize GIS and spatial ecology tools to support data analysis and reporting.
- Ensure quality control of field surveys and ecological data collection.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including other FAEs and technical specialists to integrate ecological findings into broader environmental assessments.

Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Wildlife Science, Zoology, Botany, Life Sciences, Forestry, or a closely related discipline, meeting applicable NABET criteria.
