If you are an electrical engineer passionate about technical accuracy, applied problem-solving, and detailed reasoning across circuits, power systems, and related domains, this role offers a unique chance to influence how advanced AI systems comprehend and communicate complex electrical engineering concepts. You will work closely with cutting-edge language models, evaluating and refining their outputs on specialized electrical engineering topics. Your expertise will directly contribute to enhancing the world’s leading AI models and help shape the future of AI-driven technical communication.
This position is with SME Careers, a rapidly growing AI Data Services company and a subsidiary of SuperAnnotate. SME Careers provides high-quality training data to many of the largest AI companies and foundation-model research labs worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate AI-generated responses for technical accuracy, logical consistency, completeness, and clarity across a broad range of electrical engineering subjects.
- Challenge advanced language models using realistic electrical engineering scenarios, calculations, and reasoning tasks grounded in industry standards.
- Review and refine AI-generated prompts, model answers, explanations, and step-by-step solutions, ensuring correctness in math, units, and underlying assumptions.
- Provide structured, detailed feedback identifying factual inaccuracies, unsafe recommendations, missing constraints, invalid assumptions, incorrect modeling, or incomplete reasoning.
- Assess model performance on topics including circuit design and analysis, power systems, power electronics, controls, embedded and digital systems, EMI/EMC and safety, as well as testing and troubleshooting.
- Help establish AI communication standards for technical electrical engineering content, focusing on how models explain assumptions, limitations, safety concerns, and apply professional judgment.
- Ensure AI-generated content aligns with responsible engineering practices, particularly regarding electrical safety, regulatory compliance, and practical feasibility.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with hands-on expertise in one or more areas such as power systems, power electronics, industrial controls, embedded systems, analog/digital circuit design, RF/communications, signal processing, instrumentation, automation, or electronics manufacturing and testing.
- Strong foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit analysis, electronics, electromagnetics, signals and systems, control theory, and safe engineering practices like grounding, isolation, protection, and EMC/EMI considerations.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations, assumptions, constraints, unit consistency, and sound, defensible reasoning that incorporates limitations and safety factors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field is required.
- Advanced degrees (Master’s or PhD), professional certifications (PE, Chartered Engineer), or other advanced qualifications are highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience working with AI data training, annotation, red-teaming, or evaluating AI-generated technical content is a significant advantage.
- Familiarity with engineering tools and artifacts such as schematics, SPICE simulation, MATLAB/Simulink, PCB design software, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power system studies, or test reports is beneficial.
This role offers the opportunity to apply your electrical engineering expertise in a cutting-edge AI environment, contributing to the development of AI systems that understand and communicate complex technical information responsibly and accurately.
