The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing daily electrical maintenance activities at both the factory and head office locations. This role ensures that preventive and corrective maintenance tasks are completed promptly to maintain the smooth operation of machinery and electrical systems. The technician will play a key role in minimizing machine downtime and supporting the overall efficiency of production and facility operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately follow the preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for machines, equipment, and building electrical systems.
- Ensure machine breakdowns are minimized, keeping annual downtime below 2%.
- Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of electrical panels, wiring, lighting, motors, and control systems.
- Assist in the maintenance of HVAC systems, generators, UPS units, and other electrical infrastructure at both the plant and head office.
- Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities and breakdown histories for future reference and analysis.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and standards during all maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Report recurring issues and the need for spare parts promptly to the supervisor to avoid extended downtime.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Electrical Engineering.
- 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, preferably within an industrial setting.
- Basic knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, and applicable safety standards.
- Ability to work in shifts and respond effectively to emergency maintenance situations.
- Strong team player with a responsible and proactive approach to work.
