Located in Islamabad, this full-time position seeks an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer with 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience. The role involves designing and building industrial electronic devices in close collaboration with mechatronics and software teams. The engineer will take projects from schematic design through to field-tested products, ensuring robust and reliable hardware solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design circuits and 2 to 4 layer PCBs using tools such as KiCad or Altium, focusing on sensor interfaces, precision measurement, and microcontroller boards like ESP32 and STM32.
- Develop 12/24 V DC power stages incorporating surge protection, reverse-polarity safeguards, and fuse protection.
- Integrate various sensors and communication interfaces including UART, RS-485/Modbus, I2C, SPI, and Wi-Fi.
- Design control panels for motors, pumps, and valves, incorporating relays, contactors, and overload protection mechanisms.
- Prototype, solder, test, and thoroughly document schematics, bills of materials (BOMs), wiring diagrams, and test reports.
- Select appropriate IP65/IP67 enclosures and source locally available components to ensure durability and cost-effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in circuit and PCB design, supported by a portfolio of designed boards.
- Strong foundation in analog and power electronics principles.
- Experience with precision analog sensing, signal conditioning, and sensor calibration.
- Proven ability to design for outdoor and harsh environments, considering factors such as temperature extremes, vibration, moisture, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
- Proficient in using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multimeters, with hands-on skills in SMD soldering. Comfortable characterizing undocumented devices.
- Knowledgeable in safe AC switching and panel wiring practices.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience in robotics, including working with motor drivers, encoders, and sensor feedback systems, is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies such as MQTT, cloud dashboards, and over-the-air (OTA) updates is a plus.
- Competitive salary packages and an exemplary work environment are offered.
Please note that the selection process is highly competitive. Only candidates shortlisted for interviews will be contacted. Applicants are encouraged to submit their CV along with photos or files of PCBs they have designed.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative industrial electronics projects in a dynamic, collaborative setting.
