Engineer Telecom

A leading gas transmission and distribution utility company is seeking three Telecom Engineers to join their team on a full-time basis. The successful candidates will be responsible for the in-house execution of the SCADA expansion project, which involves planning, installing, configuring, testing, and commissioning telecommunication and SCADA infrastructure. This infrastructure is critical for the monitoring and control of the company’s gas transmission and distribution network. The positions offer placement at any location within the company’s franchise area, including Punjab, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Federal Capital. Candidates should be prepared to travel as required for site work.

Key Responsibilities

- Execute all in-house tasks related to the SCADA expansion project, including installation, configuration, testing, and commissioning of SCADA and associated telecom equipment at assigned sites.
- Conduct site surveys and assist in planning and designing communication links between field sites (RTUs/field devices) and control centers.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom equipment and communication links used for SCADA data transfer to minimize downtime.
- Perform integration, functional, and acceptance testing of SCADA and telecom systems, ensuring performance meets technical specifications.
- Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth, safe, and timely project execution.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation such as site records, test reports, drawings, progress reports, and project updates.
- Analyze system and communication issues, identify root causes, and recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Adhere strictly to the company’s safety, quality, and operational procedures during all field and site activities.
- Undertake any additional duties related to the SCADA/Telecom function as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications

- MSc or BSc degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Up to one year of relevant experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Maximum age limit of 35 years.
- No third division in any academic record throughout the educational career.
- For degrees obtained from abroad, an equivalence certificate from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is mandatory.
- Membership in the relevant professional body in Pakistan is required.
- Registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is mandatory for engineers.

Skills and Competencies

- Proficiency in MS Office applications and internet use.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.

Reporting and Working Relationships

The Telecom Engineers will report to a designated supervisor within the Telecom/SCADA function. They will work closely with teams from SCADA, Telecom, Operations, and Projects, as well as with external contractors and vendors.

Candidates must be flexible regarding their place of posting within the company’s franchise area and willing to travel frequently for site-related tasks.
