Estimation Engineer

Bilal Switchgear Engineering, a leading manufacturer of medium-voltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) switchgear in Pakistan since 1978, is seeking an Estimation Engineer to join their team in Lahore. The company operates advanced manufacturing facilities equipped with CNC and laser cutting machines and is licensed by ABB. With a strong focus on quality and compliance with national and international standards, Bilal Switchgear Engineering offers comprehensive electrical solutions, including electrification, automation, SCADA, BMS, and renewable energy systems. The Estimation Engineer will play a critical role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates and proposals for MV/LV switchgear and related electrical projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and proposals for electrical projects involving MV/LV switchgear.
- Review technical drawings and specifications to perform accurate quantity take-offs.
- Collaborate closely with design, sales, and project teams to ensure alignment of estimates with project requirements.
- Conduct market research to validate material and labor costs, ensuring estimates are competitive and realistic.
- Support bid preparation activities and participate in technical and commercial discussions with clients and suppliers.
- Assist in negotiations to secure favorable terms while maintaining company standards.
- Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, client specifications, and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong expertise in BOQ preparation and project estimation for electrical and engineering projects.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering and construction/infrastructure concepts.
- Effective negotiation skills for engaging with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with estimation or ERP software tools.
- Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Commitment to safety, quality assurance, and ethical business practices.
