Soluxia Energy is a dynamic company specializing in solar energy, energy storage, and energy consultancy. Operating through Soluxia Solutions in Canada, the company pursues international energy projects and technical partnerships. Currently, Soluxia Energy is expanding its footprint into EV charging software and network management, targeting opportunities in both Pakistan and Canada.
We are looking for an experienced EV Charging Software Technical Lead to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing and deploying charging station management systems (CSMS). This role involves leading the technical planning, platform development, charger integration, and testing efforts. The successful candidate will evaluate existing software platforms alongside custom development options, define the system architecture and development roadmap, and determine the engineering resources needed to meet project goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Design backend services, databases, and APIs to manage chargers, user access, charging sessions, billing, and reporting.
- Implement and test OCPP charger communications (versions 1.6J and/or 2.0.1) and OCPI network integrations.
- Develop remote monitoring tools, fault alert systems, diagnostics, and charger-control functionalities.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to implement dynamic load management solutions.
- Integrate payment gateways, RFID authentication, and third-party systems for seamless user experience.
- Plan and execute charger onboarding, platform migrations, and data export processes.
- Establish cloud deployment strategies, including access controls, logging, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Lead comprehensive testing efforts using physical chargers and simulators, covering scenarios such as connectivity failures and transaction recovery.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, delivery estimates, and support procedures.
- Provide technical guidance to developers and coordinate closely with charger manufacturers, software partners, and Soluxia’s project teams.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience developing or operating a live EV charging management platform.
- Hands-on experience with OCPP 1.6J and/or OCPP 2.0.1 implementations.
- Familiarity with OCPI integrations covering charging locations, tariffs, tokens, sessions, and charge detail records.
- Strong backend development skills in technologies such as Java, Python, Node.js, .NET, Go, or similar.
- Experience working with WebSockets, REST APIs, databases, and cloud deployment environments.
- Practical understanding of charger authentication, transaction handling, meter data processing, and remote command execution.
- Ability to diagnose charger connectivity, protocol, and backend issues effectively.
- Capability to define system architecture, estimate development efforts, and lead technical delivery.
- A relevant technical degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
- Experience with smart charging and dynamic load management.
- Knowledge of payment integrations, billing, and reconciliation processes.
- Familiarity with OCPP conformance testing or certification preparation.
- Experience in security testing, audit support, and Canadian cloud deployment standards.
- Integration experience with fleet management or building management systems.
- Exposure to deployments involving multiple charger manufacturers.
Candidates are encouraged to submit their CV along with a brief summary of relevant EV charging software projects. Please highlight your specific responsibilities, protocol versions used, charger manufacturers integrated, and whether the systems reached live operation. Where confidentiality permits, sharing a portfolio or demonstration of your work is highly appreciated.
