Expert Mergers and Acquisitions - VEON

JazzWorld, a part of VEON—a global digital operator with businesses spanning connectivity, fintech, and digital services—is seeking a Mergers and Acquisitions Analyst based in Pakistan. This role offers the opportunity to support strategic investment decisions and drive growth across VEON’s markets. Reporting directly to the Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at VEON HQ, the analyst will engage in financial analysis, valuation, due diligence, and transaction execution. The position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and external advisors across various geographies, providing valuable exposure to transactions within the TMT, fintech, and digital sectors.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and maintenance of the M&A pipeline across VEON markets.
- Conduct financial analysis and valuation using methodologies such as discounted cash flow (DCF), comparable company analysis, and precedent transactions.
- Prepare executive-level materials and presentations for internal stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge bank of transactions and peer benchmarks in TMT, fintech, and digital industries.
- Coordinate cross-functional due diligence workstreams and liaise with external advisors to ensure smooth transaction processes.
- Assist in transaction execution, including preparation and review of key deal documentation.
- Track post-transaction key performance indicators (KPIs) and measure performance against the original investment rationale.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA in Finance/Accounting and/or professional certifications such as ACCA, CFA, or CA are highly desirable.
- 4 to 6+ years of experience in investment banking, corporate development/M&A, private equity, venture capital, or a related discipline.
- Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, including proficiency in DCF, comparable companies, and precedent transaction analyses.
- Solid understanding of TMT, fintech, and digital business models.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end M&A process, including due diligence and transaction execution.
- Excellent analytical, structuring, and problem-solving abilities.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions and geographies with a strong ownership mindset.
- Experience supporting transactions through screening, financial modeling, and due diligence coordination.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with financial data and market intelligence platforms such as Bloomberg, Capital IQ, Refinitiv, and Factiva.
- Understanding of legal documentation and key commercial terms related to transactions.
