We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team on a full-time, in-person basis. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in analyzing tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates and bids. This position requires close collaboration with procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure comprehensive and competitive submissions. The Estimator will also be responsible for identifying cost-saving opportunities and supporting budget management throughout project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Study tender documents, drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and technical specifications thoroughly to understand project requirements.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, including material take-offs and pricing, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate effectively with procurement, engineering, and project teams to gather necessary information and align on project scope.
- Request quotations from vendors and suppliers, evaluate their offers, and select the most suitable options based on quality and cost.
- Prepare both technical and commercial bid submissions, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal standards.
- Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and assess risks associated with project estimates.
- Maintain organized estimation records and databases for future reference and audit purposes.
- Assist in budget preparation and provide support for cost control measures during project execution to ensure financial targets are met.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates and bids within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong ability to interpret tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
