We are seeking a dedicated Homeroom Teacher for Grade 3 or Grade 5 to join our Primary School team. The successful candidate will foster a positive, engaging, and safe classroom environment that supports students’ academic success, character growth, and overall well-being. This role involves delivering curriculum-aligned lessons, managing classroom dynamics, and collaborating closely with parents and school staff to ensure each student’s development is nurtured effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging daily lessons in core subjects including English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Prepare weekly lesson plans and classroom activities aligned with the curriculum. Assess students through quizzes, assignments, projects, and examinations, maintaining accurate academic records and grade books. Differentiate instruction to accommodate individual learning needs.
Classroom Management:
Establish and uphold classroom rules and discipline to create a positive, inclusive, and respectful learning environment. Monitor student attendance and punctuality while encouraging good behavior, teamwork, and responsibility among students.
Student Development:
Track students’ academic, emotional, and social progress, identifying those who require additional support. Promote critical thinking, creativity, communication, and problem-solving skills. Instill core values such as respect, honesty, kindness, and responsibility.
Parent Communication:
Act as the primary liaison for parents regarding student progress. Conduct parent-teacher meetings and conferences, respond professionally to inquiries and concerns, and provide regular updates on student performance and classroom activities.
Administrative Duties:
Prepare report cards and progress reports, maintain student portfolios and classroom documentation. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. Assist in organizing school events, assemblies, field trips, and extracurricular activities. Ensure classroom resources are well maintained.
Child Safety:
Ensure the safety and well-being of all students by adhering to school safeguarding and child protection policies. Report any concerns related to student welfare promptly to school management.
Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a relevant subject is essential. Teaching certification is preferred. Candidates should have a minimum of 1–2 years of teaching experience in primary grades, preferably. Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, are required. Strong classroom management abilities and familiarity with educational technology such as Google Classroom, Microsoft Office, and interactive teaching tools are also necessary.

Strong organizational and time-management skills are important, along with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners. Teamwork, collaboration, problem-solving, conflict resolution, adaptability, and creativity in teaching are highly valued.
Working Hours
The position follows the school’s official working hours. Attendance at meetings, parent conferences, school events, and professional development sessions outside regular teaching hours may be required as needed.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Success in this role will be measured by student academic achievement and progress, effective classroom management, timely lesson planning and curriculum completion, parent satisfaction and communication, student attendance and engagement, punctual submission of reports and documentation, professional conduct, teamwork, and active participation in school activities and ongoing professional development.
This position is suitable for private schools and virtual academies and can be tailored for either Grade 3 or Grade 5 by adjusting curriculum expectations. The role is based on-site, with a monthly salary range of Rs33,000 to Rs35,000.
