Field Officer (Male & Female)

This role involves working closely with communities to implement project activities aimed at improving food security and social mobilization in challenging and complex environments. The candidate will engage with local leaders, organize capacity-building initiatives, and ensure active community participation. The position requires collecting and analyzing field data, facilitating behavior change campaigns, and supporting the development and functionality of community organizations. Collaboration with various project staff and stakeholders is essential to achieve project goals and promote sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement community-level activities according to project plans, focusing on targeted geographical areas.
- Identify and engage community leaders to foster local ownership and participation.
- Mobilize and organize communities for training sessions and capacity-building programs.
- Ensure active community involvement in meetings and awareness campaigns.
- Oversee social mobilization efforts within designated Union Councils or neighborhood councils.
- Develop and execute weekly and monthly activity schedules for specific Village Organizations.
- Collect qualitative and quantitative data for surveys and assessments at the field level.
- Facilitate behavior change campaigns to promote positive community practices.
- Target the most vulnerable beneficiaries to maintain project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support the functionality and enhancement of Village Organizations (VOs), Community Organizations (COs), and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) by facilitating bylaws development, record-keeping, and meeting documentation in line with project social mobilization strategies and GMI indicators.
- Identify training needs for Village Organizations and conduct capacity-building sessions, preparing detailed training reports.
- Collaborate with project staff such as the Agriculture & Livestock Officer, Value Chain Officer, and Project Engineer to identify beneficiaries and implement activities including Farmer Group Discussions (FGDs), nutrition awareness, and agricultural/livestock training.
- Assist project personnel during field visits to ensure smooth implementation.
- Support Group Maturity Assessments using GMI tools, develop action plans based on findings, and report progress regularly.
- Act as a liaison between Village Organizations and stakeholders, including government departments, to enhance project impact and sustainability.
- Contribute to project promotion by providing content for stories, case studies, articles, and other public relations activities in coordination with the MEAL team.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

- Graduation in Social Sciences.
- 4-5 years of relevant experience working with NGOs or INGOs.
- Proven ability and willingness to work and live in challenging and potentially unstable environments.
- Experience working in complex and volatile contexts.
- Technical knowledge of Food Security.
- Demonstrated documented results related to the responsibilities of this position.
- Experience in leadership and problem-solving.
- Professional proficiency in English and local languages, including Pashto and Urdu.
