DBL-Design Build Live is seeking a strategic and commercially astute Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its executive leadership team. As a leading integrated architecture, design, and construction firm, DBL delivers landmark residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects from concept through to handover. The CFO will be a key partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, responsible for overseeing the entire finance function. This role demands a strong focus on financial resilience, growth strategy, risk management, and capital optimization, ensuring profitability and sustainable expansion across multiple projects and markets.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the CEO and Board to define and implement long-term corporate and financial strategies. Lead mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, market expansion, and diversification efforts. Provide data-driven insights to support bidding, pricing, and project selection decisions.

Financial Planning & Performance: Manage annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning. Develop and monitor KPIs and dashboards related to project margins, work-in-progress, backlog, utilization, and overhead recovery. Drive profitability across design fees, construction contracts, and design-build engagements.

Construction & Project Finance: Oversee job costing, cost-to-complete analysis, change order management, and retention tracking. Ensure compliance with revenue recognition standards including percentage-of-completion, IFRS 15, and ASC 606. Review project financials at all key stages: bid, mobilization, execution, and closeout.

Treasury, Capital & Cash Flow: Manage liquidity, working capital, and cash flow across concurrent projects. Structure and negotiate bank facilities, project financing, performance bonds, and guarantees. Maintain strong relationships with banks, sureties, investors, and insurers.

Governance, Risk & Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and audit readiness under IFRS/GAAP. Oversee tax planning, statutory compliance, and regulatory filings. Establish robust internal controls, enterprise risk management, and fraud prevention frameworks. Present financial performance and risk updates to the Board and stakeholders.

Team & Systems: Lead and develop finance, accounting, procurement-finance, and commercial teams. Drive ERP and construction-finance system optimization (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Procore, Sage, or equivalents). Champion automation, reporting excellence, and a culture of accountability.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business is essential, along with a professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA, CFA, or CIMA. Candidates must have a minimum of 12 years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior finance leadership roles. Proven expertise in construction, real estate development, engineering, or architecture/design industries is required. Strong knowledge of construction accounting, project costing, and long-term contract revenue recognition is critical. Experience in financing, banking negotiations, and capital structuring is necessary. The ability to present confidently to boards, investors, and lenders is also required.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits

An MBA or advanced degree in Finance is preferred. Experience managing multi-project, multi-entity, or international operations is advantageous. Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, or IPO/fundraising readiness is a plus. Familiarity with FIDIC/NEC contracts, claims, and commercial risk management is desirable.

DBL offers a competitive executive salary with a performance-linked bonus, along with equity, profit-sharing, or long-term incentive plans. Comprehensive health, life, and retirement benefits are provided. This role offers executive-level influence over company direction and the opportunity to shape a growing, design-led construction enterprise.
