The Financial Controller will play a critical leadership role within a leading UK-based coffee chain, overseeing the finance operations across multiple entities. Reporting directly to the CFO and collaborating closely with the Heads of Financial Reporting and FP&A, this position ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all financial processes. The role demands a strategic yet hands-on finance leader capable of managing a growing team while maintaining rigorous financial controls, governance, and operational discipline. Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the finance operations team across all group entities, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with financial reporting and planning teams to align accounting, reporting, and budgeting functions.
- Act as the operational deputy to the CFO, stepping in on critical matters as needed.
- Oversee daily accounting activities, ensuring compliance with IFRS and local GAAP across subsidiaries.
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to deliver timely and accurate financial results.
- Support consolidation of group financial statements in coordination with the Head of Financial Reporting.
- Design and enforce internal control frameworks and accounting policies to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate statutory and group audits, liaising with internal and external auditors.
- Oversee tax compliance and regulatory adherence across jurisdictions.
- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead cash flow management on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to maintain liquidity.
- Optimize working capital cycles including payables, receivables, and inventory management.
- Manage banking relationships, supporting credit facility negotiations and trade finance.
- Ensure treasury processes are well-documented and subject to audit.
- Oversee ERP and accounting system implementations and optimizations across entities.
- Drive standardization and continuous improvement of accounting processes and controls.
- Collaborate with business units to enhance financial transparency and cost control initiatives.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent.
- 10 to 15+ years of financial management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior controller or comparable leadership role.
- Proven expertise managing finance operations within multi-entity or international organizations.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal controls, and audit procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in cash flow management, compliance, and treasury functions.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced skills in Excel and data analysis.

Preferred Qualifications and Benefits
