Financial Services Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Financial Services Engineer to join our remote team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of financial operations and bookkeeping. Working closely with directors and project managers, you will contribute valuable insights into the company’s financial health and assist in strategic business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and optimize financial operations using tools such as Workbench, Xero, and other relevant software.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping functions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Review daily payment schedules and process payments efficiently.
- Administer payroll, timesheets, superannuation, and CoInvest processing with precision.
- Handle trade accounts, applications, and manage expenditures related to company vehicles.
- Prepare cashflow models for general business operations as well as for specific financial institutions.
- Support directors by providing monthly project cost reports and conducting financial reviews.
- Compile and analyze financial data for both live and estimated construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop cashflow forecasts and provide financial analysis to aid strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Exceptional communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and software tools.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial data and reporting.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Highly organized with excellent multitasking and time management skills.
- Willingness and ability to work during Australian business hours.
