Financial Services Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Financial Services Engineer to join our remote team. This role is well-suited for someone with a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a solid understanding of financial operations and bookkeeping. You will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day financial processes, and supporting strategic decision-making through detailed financial analysis. Collaboration with directors and project managers is key, as your insights will contribute to the overall financial health and operational efficiency of the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and optimize financial operations using tools such as Workbench, Xero, and other relevant software.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general bookkeeping functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Review daily payment schedules and process payments efficiently.
- Administer payroll, timesheets, superannuation, and CoInvest processing with attention to detail.
- Handle trade accounts, applications, and company vehicle expenses.
- Develop cashflow models for general business operations as well as for specific financial institutions.
- Support directors by preparing monthly project cost reports and conducting financial reviews.
- Compile and analyze financial data related to live and estimated construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers to create cashflow forecasts and provide financial analysis to assist in strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Exceptional communication skills in both spoken and written English.
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and financial tools.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all financial data and reporting.
- Proven ability to work independently with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Highly organized with strong multitasking and time management skills.
- Availability to work during Australian business hours.
