Fly Jinnah, a part of the Air Arabia Group’s Corporate & Commercial division, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join their team in Karachi. This role is pivotal in managing payroll, workforce planning, HR budgeting, and policy administration to ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with company policies, and alignment with regulatory requirements. The HR Generalist will coordinate payroll activities, support compensation and manpower planning initiatives, maintain HR systems, and prepare detailed reports to aid operational efficiency and management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete monthly payroll cycle, including preparation, validation, reconciliation, and timely salary disbursement.
- Process payroll-related transactions such as attendance, leave, overtime, allowances, deductions, loans, arrears, gratuity, insurance, and end-of-service benefits.
- Collaborate with departmental representatives and stakeholders to ensure payroll accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Conduct payroll audits, variance analyses, reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies following approved policies.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll and employee records, ensuring confidentiality, accuracy, and data integrity.
- Support the annual HR and manpower budgeting process by consolidating headcount requirements and preparing workforce cost projections in coordination with the Central HR team.
- Monitor payroll and workforce costs against budgets, prepare variance reports, and work with HR and Line Managers to address significant deviations.
- Coordinate manpower planning exercises, reviewing requisitions against approved budgets and organizational needs.
- Analyze budgeted, replacement, and unbudgeted positions while tracking headcount status by department, grade, and location.
- Provide insights on headcount trends, vacancies, attrition, employee costs, and productivity to support workforce planning.
- Conduct compensation benchmarking, salary surveys, and market pay studies to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness.
- Assist in developing and reviewing remuneration policies, salary structures, grading frameworks, allowances, and incentive programs.
- Prepare cost analyses and business cases for salary adjustments, promotions, and compensation policy changes.
- Support HR digitalization efforts by identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Coordinate implementation, testing, and user acceptance of HRIS, payroll, recruitment, attendance, and employee self-service systems.
- Maintain HR process documentation including SOPs, checklists, and system manuals.
- Monitor system performance to ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and quality.
- Develop, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with labor laws and internal controls.
- Provide guidance to managers and employees on policy interpretation and application.
- Support employee grievance handling, disciplinary investigations, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive cases.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of HR audit findings.
- Prepare HR dashboards and reports covering payroll accuracy, workforce costs, headcount, recruitment status, attrition, and policy compliance.
- Monitor HR KPIs, identify workforce risks, and provide actionable insights to management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or PHR is preferred.
- Proficiency in English and local languages.
- Strong skills in MS Office applications.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- 6 to 8 years of progressive HR experience with hands-on exposure to payroll, compensation and benefits, manpower planning, budgeting, recruitment, and HR operations.
- Experience working with HRIS, payroll systems, applicant tracking systems, and employee self-service platforms.
- Background in aviation, regulated industries, or multi-location organizations is advantageous.
